Jelili Sulaimon, the suspended chairman of Alimosho Local Government Area, has apologized to the Lagos State House of Assembly for his recent behaviour that led to his suspension.
The suspension was because he did not follow the directives of the legislative body.
He was contesting the suspension through a statement by his lawyer, Dr Abdul Mahmud, stating that it does not meet with the legal standards. He further noted that it violates Supreme Court rulings.
Sulaimon released a ‘Letter of Apology’ which was addressed to the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa. He apologized for his actions calling it disrespectful and rude.
He stated, “Upon reflection, I realised that my conduct and certain decisions might have been seen as disrespectful. This was never my intention, and I regret any discomfort caused to you and the House.”
Sulaimon further stated that he has withdrawn the lawsuitfiled against the legislative body in the Federal High Court, Abuja.
