The Brief

Akchev Nigeria Limited approached NaijaTraffic with a time-sensitive request to celebrate the birthday of Mike Adenuga through a professional newspaper publication. The challenge was that his birthday was the very next day, and Akchev contacted us late in the day when our working hours were almost over.

The objective was to create a corporate birthday publication that would properly celebrate Mike Adenuga while also giving Akchev an opportunity to strengthen its corporate visibility, public relations, and brand positioning. Given the extremely short timeframe, we understood that simply turning down the request would mean Akchev would miss the opportunity to have the publication out on the birthday.

Instead of rejecting the request, we took on the project because we understood what the publication meant to the client. We presented Akchev with options of some of the top newspaper companies in Nigeria where the publication could be placed, and they selected Punch Newspaper.

We immediately developed the publication copy and coordinated with our established media partners to process the placement. Despite receiving the request late in the day, we were able to complete the publication process in time for the next day’s edition. By the following morning, the birthday publication had appeared on the front page of Punch Newspaper, giving Akchev the visibility they wanted on the exact day of the celebration.
