Yobe government supports 15,000 SMEs with N1.5 billion

Reports have it that over 15,000 small business owners and entrepreneurs were supported by Yobe State government with a total of N1.5 billion.

At the Banquet Hall, Government House Damaturu, Governor Mai Mala Bun explained that the reason for the government’s support is to boost the economy of the country.

He said each of the business owners and entrepreneurs will earn ₦100,000 each to boost their business and provide their basic needs. He said the initiative plans to safeguard vulnerable, empower citizens, and create employment for people.

He noted that the government is building a strong foundation to enable them grow in the long run by helping the small business owners boost their businesses.

The Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Small and Medium Scale Industries Credit Board, Alhaji Muhammad Alkali, noted that the initiative have supported 24,160 small business entrepreneurs in the last 24 months.
