Kassim Afegbua, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has stated that the south must complete their eight years tenure before the north takes over.<\/p>\n
While speaking on Arise TV, he condemned the People\u2019s Democratic Party (PDP) for not adhering to the constitution on power rotation.<\/p>\n
He condemned the party for neglecting 2023 election principle by siding Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. He further noted that the south should be allowed to finish up with their tenure.<\/p>\n
He said, \u201cFor me, I don\u2019t think the north should bother to discuss about 2027 for power to be ceded to them.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cIf you recall, one of the reasons I canvassed for a southern presidency in 2023, was because Alhaji Atiku Abubakar decided to change the political narrative of the PDP.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cArticle 7 of its own constitution, Section C, stipulates that there should be a rotation of power.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cIn an effort to railroad the polity into presenting an Atiku, seeing him as someone who can defeat the APC, they decided to package him, and since then, the center cannot hold up to now.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cSo, when you have that kind of scenario, where a party is not able to follow the normative order of its own constitution by virtue of its own provisions, then you have this kind of scenario of trying to push the political algorithms.<\/em><\/p>\n \u201cThe South must be made to complete its eight years, then power would now go to the North.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Kassim Afegbua, All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has stated that the south must complete their eight years tenure before the north takes over.
