A retired public servant and respected Islamic leader, Alhaji Jafaru Makarfi, has been confirmed dead. He died at the age of 93 in Kaduna State.<\/p>\n
In a statement released by Alhaji Suleman Abdulkadir, the Garkuwan Zazzau who announced the death of the leader stated that he died on Saturday.<\/p>\n
He further noted that funeral prayer will be held at 1 pm at Sultan Bello Mosque on Sunday.<\/p>\n
The deceased is known individual in the Nigerian Muslim community and served as Chairman of the Jama\u2019atu Nasril Islam (JNI). He also served as a Commissioner in the defunct Kaduna State.<\/p>\n
Part of the statement read, \u201cHe was the first Northerner to hold the position of District Superintendent in the Western District of the NRC.
