Dr. Morufu Olatunji Alausa, the new Minister of Education, has reversed the rule that was introduced by Professor Tahir Mamman that a child must be of 18 years and above for University admission.<\/p>\n
It was after that last month’s cabinet reshuffle that Dr. Olatunji Alausa became the new Minister of Education.<\/p>\n
He further explained that such policy was detrimental to the Federal Government’s efforts towards education which would make it unsustainable for the sector.<\/p>\n
He highlighted that the 16-year should be the age limit and it is mandatory for the children.<\/p>\n
He noted that he has plans to change the education sector of Nigeria as the focus is on practical learning. He said that the education system should be 80% practical and 20% theoretical.<\/p>\n
