{"id":14619,"date":"2024-11-05T09:43:07","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T09:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.news.naijatraffic.ng\/?p=14619"},"modified":"2024-11-05T09:43:07","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T09:43:07","slug":"tinubu-nominates-inec-national-commissioner-and-resident-electoral-commissioner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.naijatraffic.ng\/news\/tinubu-nominates-inec-national-commissioner-and-resident-electoral-commissioner\/","title":{"rendered":"Tinubu nominates INEC national commissioner and Resident Electoral Commissioner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Abdulrazak Yusuf Tukur has been nominated by President Tinubu as the National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing the North West.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President nominated lawyer Saseyi Feyijimi Ibiyemi, as a Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) representing Ondo State.<\/p>\n<p>The statement read<em>, \u201cTukur, 59, has a Bachelor of Arts from Bayero University, a postgraduate diploma in Economics from Bradford University, England and a Master of Arts from Leeds University, also in England.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe began working for INEC in 1999 as assistant chief administrative officer and rose to become the director of Electoral Operations and Logistics.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It added,<em> \u201cIbiyemi, 58, who hails from Ilaje in Ondo State, is currently the Administrative Secretary of INEC in Lagos State.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cShe graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987 and was called to the bar in 1988.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Abdulrazak Yusuf Tukur has been nominated by President Tinubu as the National Commissioner for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), representing the North West.
