{"id":14082,"date":"2024-10-31T12:37:08","date_gmt":"2024-10-31T12:37:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.news.naijatraffic.ng\/?p=14082"},"modified":"2024-10-31T12:37:08","modified_gmt":"2024-10-31T12:37:08","slug":"three-officers-arrested-over-extortion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.naijatraffic.ng\/news\/three-officers-arrested-over-extortion\/","title":{"rendered":"Three officers arrested over extortion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Rivers State Police Command arrested three female officers caught engaged in extortion in Port Harcourt.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, a statement was released by the spokesperson of the police command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko stated that the arrest was after the monitoring patrol by the operatives from the Commissioner of Police team, CP Monitoring Unit on October 29, 2024.<\/p>\n<p>SP Grace Koko noted that it was under Rumuokoro Flyover around 3pm, that Inspector Christiana Jata, Inspector Sarah Anendei and Inspector Caroline Promise was caught involving in the corrupt act.<\/p>\n<p>She further explained that Inspectors Promise and Jatau was caught in the corrupt act which undermines the integrity of police and trust of public.<\/p>\n<p>Komo stated, <em>\u201cTheir misconduct was captured on video by a mobile phone, providing clear evidence of their actions.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cDuring the immediate on-site investigation, the operatives searched the officers and recovered the money taken from the motorists, marking a swift response in upholding ethical practices within the Rivers State Police Command.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe officers are currently detained and awaiting appropriate disciplinary measures.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Rivers State Police Command arrested three female officers caught engaged in extortion in Port Harcourt.
