The new jet is a valuable asset of the Nigerian people.<\/p>\n<p>He further noted that the new jet was a replacement of the 19-year-old Boeing B737-700 purchased during former President Obasanjo&#8217;s tenure.<\/p>\n<p>He stated, <em>\u201cThe president did not buy a new jet; what he has is a refurbished jet \u2013 it has been used by somebody else before he got it but it is a much newer model than the one President Buhari used.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe one President Buhari used was bought by President Obasanjo some 20 years ago.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThere was a time the President went to Saudi Arabia, that plane developed some problems and the President had to leave with a chartered jet to The Netherlands.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Presidency has justified President Tinubu&#8217;s recent purchase of a refurbished Airbus A330.
