Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar suggested that rail system of transporting fuel across the country should be considered.<\/p>\n

Remember the incident of a petrol tanker explosion<\/a> that occurred in Majiya town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State. This incident killed over ninety people and left the rest injured.<\/p>\n

In his post on X, Atiku expressed deep concern while extending his condolences to the bereaved families and Jigawa government.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cI am saddened by reports of the death of scores of people in a petrol tanker explosion in Majiya town in Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe incident in Jigawa is one too many involving tragic petrol tanker explosions in the country.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is about time we explored other means, like rail, for transporting petroleum products around the country.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is also pertinent to train drivers involved in the transportation of flammable products and review the protocol for the transportation of petroleum products and other inflammable products.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cI wish to share my grief with the people and government of Jigawa State and ask for an expeditious rescue and control operation. No resource should be spared in treating the injured.<\/em><\/p>\n
