{"id":12575,"date":"2024-10-16T13:09:01","date_gmt":"2024-10-16T13:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.news.naijatraffic.ng\/?p=12575"},"modified":"2024-10-16T13:09:01","modified_gmt":"2024-10-16T13:09:01","slug":"jigawa-tanker-explosion-kills-90-people-50-injured","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.naijatraffic.ng\/news\/jigawa-tanker-explosion-kills-90-people-50-injured\/","title":{"rendered":"Jigawa tanker explosion kills 90 people, 50 injured"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An incident occurred on Tuesday in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, where at least ninety people died and fifty people were hospitalized as a result of the explosion of a petrol tanker.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, it was confirmed by the police spokesperson, Mr Shi\u2019isu Adam in Jigawa.<\/p>\n<p>He said,<em> \u201cAt about 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Majia Town, Taura local government area of Jigawa, the tanker driver lost control near Khadija University and it exploded.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe driver left Kano and was heading to Nguru in Yobe when the accident happened.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;We are worried that in spite of police warning for people to steer clear from scenes of accidents involving fuel tankers, they still engage in such acts.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201dPeople gathered around the accident scene, that is the reason for the mass casualty.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He also indicated that the injured victims are in the Ringim General Hospital and a mass burial will be conducted for the dead ones on Wednesday by 9:00am.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An incident occurred on Tuesday in Majiya Town, Taura Local Government Area of Jigawa State, where at least ninety people died and fifty people were hospitalized as a result of the explosion of a petrol tanker.
