On Tuesday, a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos sent Qudus Kazeem, 27-year-old tiler, to Ikoyi Correctional Center, for the alleged crime of raping his employer’s wife.
Magistrate Sanusi Adagun (Mrs) kept the defendant under custody while he was charged of four crimes which include; threat of life, unlawful sexual intercourse, stealing and fraud.
She told the prosecutor to make a copy of the case file and send it to the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
Adagin adjourned the case to December 18 for mention. The prosecutor earlier mentioned to the court that the defendant had committed crimes in December 2022, in Surulere, Lagos.
He said that the tiler was called to lay tiles in the apartment of Mr Damilare Gbadamosi, but he left his work to rape the wife of the employer.
He explained that the tiler threatened the victim and asked for ransom. The defendant told the woman that if she does not send the money, the video of their intercourse will be leaked.
He stated that the alleged crimes are against Sections 56 (1) (a), 260, 280 and 314 (1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
