‘Stop the emotional blackmail. Celebrities are human, just like you’ – Saidi Balogun

Veteran Nollywood actor Saidi Balogun has shown support for his colleague Toyin Abraham Ajewole, who is facing challenges with online trolls.

While other colleagues have remained silent on the matter, Balogun has spoken out against those trolling Abraham, pointing out their hypocrisy.

He argues that everyone has used the police to arrest others for minor offenses, but when it involves a celebrity, it becomes a case of bullying.

Balogun defends his fellow celebrities, stating that they should be able to take action without judgment, just as netizens are free to express their opinions.

“You use police to arrest your neighbours for the most minor reasons, e reach celebrity turn, you say it’s bully.

Stop the emotional blackmail. Celebrities are human, just like you. You are free to say what you like, right? Let celebrities be free to take whatever actions to protect their mental space. Freedom should not be selective. God bless”.

Few hours ago, Naija traffic reported that Toyin Abraham’s tormentors have taken a new approach by reporting her movies on Netflix, and Wikipedia has labeled her as a bully.

A user on social media shared a screenshot of a letter he wrote to the streaming platform, encouraging others to do the same.

In the letter, he called for a boycott of Toyin Abraham’s movies on Netflix and expressed disappointment in the mistreatment, particularly considering Netflix’s reputation for diverse and inclusive content.

The user urged Netflix to strongly oppose this behavior and show a dedication to creating a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for all viewers.
