The North East Unity Forum’s leadership has demanded the removal of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
Abubakar Kabir, who leads the forum, called on President Bola Tinubu to dismiss Wike as a minister due to his recent warning to governors supporting his successor, Sim Fubara, stating that he would create trouble in their states.
Kabir believes that Wike’s threats to states and governors are dangerous and can harm Nigeria’s democracy and stability. He mentioned that such aggressive language is inappropriate for a public figure and should not be accepted.
Kabir stated, “Therefore, the NUF demands the immediate dismissal of Nyesom Wike as FCT Minister. His actions have demonstrated that he is unfit to hold any public office, let alone one as significant as the FCT Minister.
“President Tinubu must choose between upholding the rule of law, decency, and common sense, or aligning with an irredeemably compromised politician like Wike, who is determined to create violence and instability to remain in the public limelight, to the detriment of Nigeria’s interests.
He mentioned that the minister’s behavior shows that he is not suitable for any public position, especially one as important as being the FCT Minister.
He also called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party to make sure that Wike faces consequences for what he said and did.
