Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda, was born on June 23, 1992, is a gifted artist from Ghana, popularly known as MzVee.
She blends afropop, dancehall, and R&B in her music and has gained recognition with popular tracks such as ‘Borkor Borkor’, ‘Natural Girl’, and ‘Dancehall Queen’.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
MzVee was born in South La Estates, Accra, to Ernest Hamenoo-Kpeda, a businessman, and Florence Hamenoo-Kpeda, a caterer.
She is originally from Keta in the Volta Region of Ghana and grew up with two older sisters and a brother.
Her education began at St Martin de Porres School in Dansoman, Accra, and she later attended St. Mary’s Girls’ Senior High School, where she studied Home Economics.
She initially pursued Business Administration at Ghana Telecom University but left in 2016.
CAREER
MzVee began her career with Lynx Entertainment and won the New Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards.
After departing from Lynx Entertainment in 2019, she focused on her solo music career.
MzVee entered the music industry in 2012 as the lead singer of D3, a girl group under Lynx Entertainment.
She released her first single ‘Borkor Borkor’ in January 2014, followed by hits like ‘Natural Girl’, earning the ‘Unsung Artiste Award’ at the 2014 Ghana Music Awards.
Her debut album was released in November 2014, followed by ‘Verified’ in November 2015 and ‘DaaVee’ in May 2017.
After taking a break from 2017 to 2019 to deal with depression, MzVee made her comeback to music in 2020 with the release of ‘Sheriff’, thanks to the support of her friend Efya.
Although she intended to release two albums that year, she was only able to launch ‘inVeencible’ in December 2020 and collaborated with TRACE TV for the music video of ‘You Alone’ in March 2021.
In 2022, she celebrated her 10th anniversary in the music industry, turned 30, and released her fifth album, ’10 Thirty’, on June 24.
This album includes collaborations with Nigerian artists such as Bella Shmurda, Yemi Alade, and Tiwa Savage, as well as Ghanaian musicians Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata.
PERSONAL LIFE
In a 2022 interview, MzVee reflected on the end of a previous relationship, attributing the breakup to her boyfriend’s insecurity, while keeping her current relationship status private.
