Nigerians have been advised to engage in the political activities of the state to achieve the desired governance needed in the country.
It was during the 75 years anniversary of the Kamal School of Arabic and Islamic Studies, Ilį»rin, that the Muslim scholars released this advice.
During the event, a former Grand Khadi of the Kwara State Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Idris Haroon urged Muslim scholars to partake in the political activities in the country.
He stated that if clerics should focus on religion and academic scholars on education, it would be detrimental to the people of the country.
He said, āOur getting involved as upright muslims with such credentials will sanitize the system and improved good governance in the country.”
The chairman of the occasion and Danmasani of Ilį»rin, Suleiman Alapasanpa, urges Muslim scholars to fucus on the Islamic text whenever they are preaching.
He also advised owners of madrasahs in Nigeria to focus on the sharing Islamic knowledge.
