Meg Otanwa, a Nigerian actress, embarked on her Nollywood journey in 2011 with the film “I’ll Take My Chances,” transitioning from a successful career in banking.

Since then, she has featured in prominent films such as “October 1” (2018), “Ojuju” (2014), and “Kpians: The Feast of Souls” (2014).

Her talent and charm led to her being featured on the cover of Zen magazine in November 2006.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Born in the Idoma region of Benue State, Nigeria, Meg spent part of her childhood in Lagos.

Growing up in a multilingual environment, she is fluent in English, Yoruba, French, Hausa, her native Idoma language, and some Spanish.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in English from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, followed by a master’s in Human Resources Management from TIME University in Tunis, Tunisia, and an MBA from Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France.

CAREER

After working at the African Development Bank in Tunis, she left her position to pursue acting, making her Nollywood debut in “I’ll Take My Chance,” directed by Emem Isong, in 2011.

In 2014, she appeared in Kunle Afolayan’s “October 1,” Bodunrin Sasore’s “Before 30” as Aisha, and Charles Novia’s “Atlanta.”

She also starred in the Africa Magic series “Hush” in 2016, portraying Koko Ogunbiade.

Nominated for Best Actress in a Drama at the 2017 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, she received an AMVCA recognition award for her performance in “Hush.”

Additionally, she played Alero in “The Eve” (2018) and Derin in “For Maria Ebun Pataki” (2020), and she took on the role of Angela in “Ratnik” (2020).
