Olori Naomi, estranged wife of Ooni of Ife , Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has lands in trouble over recent charity work.
Olori Naomi, mother of the crown prince, in partnership with Oriyomi Hamzat’s Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Ibadan, organized a charity event to feed the underprivileged on December 18th.
Tragically, the event at Islamic High School Basorun resulted in the deaths of over 32 children due to a stampede.
Reports indicate that the event, intended for families, drew a crowd exceeding the planned 5,000, with over 7,500 attendees, leading to chaos and fatalities.
The Governor expressed condolences to the families of the victims while also stating that measures have been taken to prevent additional deaths and provide support to those affected.
The statement noted, “We have taken steps to ensure no further deaths are recorded at this venue by deploying security agents to restore order at the venue. We also deployed medical personnel and ambulances to the venue. The event has been stopped, and attendees have been escorted out of the venue. We are taking all realistic measures to ensure that the venue is secured.”
Mr. Makinde guaranteed that anyone directly or indirectly involved in the incident would face consequences, urging the public to remain calm while security agencies investigate the tragedy .
The governor said, “I want to reassure our people that anyone directly or remotely involved in this disaster will be held accountable. Please remain calm as the security agencies investigate this unfortunate incident.”
