EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
Born on May 15th in Accra, Ghana, Joyce Blessing is the fourth child of Mr. Christopher Kwabena Twene and Mrs. Gladys Yaa Kyewaa.
Raised in Kumasi, in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, she received her education there.
From a young age, Joyce developed a passion for music, singing in church at 14 and participating in musical concerts despite her mother’s objections.
CAREER
She honed her live performance skills as part of the “See Them Band” group in Kumasi.
Starting her ministry in 2007 as Joyce Tuffuor, she released her debut album “Obi Ntu Nyame Fo” before rebranding as Joyce Blessing in 2013.
Her hit song “Monko Moakyi” from the Heavy Price album brought her fame, earning her six awards at the Ghana Gospel Industry Awards.
In 2014, Joyce Blessing received nominations at the Ghana Music Awards for her “Heavy Price” album, winning Best Gospel Album of the Year.
Her album ‘AGYEBUM’ released in April 2017 received recognition and awards, including Best Praise Song of the Year at the 2017 National Gospel Awards.
With a total of 24 awards and six albums, Joyce Blessing continues to have a significant impact in the gospel music scene.
She is also involved in charitable activities, supporting vulnerable groups in Ghana.
PERSONAL LIFE
Joyce Blessing, was previously married to her manager, Dave Joy. The couple, who have three children, unfortunately separated in 2023.
While the exact reasons for their divorce are unclear, reports suggest that extramarital affairs played a role.
Rumors also circulated about Joyce’s alleged relationship with her gym instructor contributing to the separation.
