Innoson Motors’ CEO, Innocent Chukwuma, has called on Nigerians to remain calm and patient, expressing confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. Chukwuma made this statement during a visit to the presidential villa, amidst nationwide protests over economic hardship and soaring living costs.
The businessman emphasized the importance of preserving public infrastructure, urging citizens to give the government a chance to implement its plans for a better future. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the current administration, including the impact of past governments’ actions on the economy.
Chukwuma also discussed Innoson Motors’ pioneering work in compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles, highlighting the company’s partnerships with the government to promote this initiative. He expressed optimism that CNG buses would soon be operational, citing the benefits of this technology for Nigeria.
The federal government has been promoting the adoption of CNG, with President Tinubu announcing the establishment of the CNG initiative in August 2023. The government has also made provisions for investing in CNG-powered buses and has waived VAT on CNG bus purchases.
Chukwuma’s visit to the presidential villa demonstrates his support for the government’s efforts to address the country’s economic challenges. His call for patience and calm reflects his confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and the potential for a better future under his guidance.
