Helen Obadagbonyi, better known as Helen Yawson, was born on July 3, 1967, in Ghana.
She is a contemporary gospel singer, songwriter, and religious leader.
Helen displayed a natural singing talent from an early age and moved to Lagos, Nigeria, at five before returning to London at 19.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION
In 1986, she joined Matthew Ashimolowo’s Christian ministry in London, where she became the lead singer of the church choir, leading praise and worship performances in Nigeria, Canada, and throughout the UK for seven years,there is no public information regarding her education
CAREER
Her musical journey took off in 1988 when she became a member of the Kingsway Four-Square Band and Singers, later joining the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) Choir.
Over the years, she contributed vocally to various KICC Choir albums and wrote songs for two of them.
In 1999, she released her debut solo album, “Blessed and Highly Favoured.” Helen continued her musical endeavors with the release of her second album, “Forever Grateful,” in 2001, followed by a worship album titled “My God and I” in 2012.
She has shared the stage with renowned gospel artists and performed at numerous conferences and concerts in Ghana and the UK.
Additionally, she released albums such as “Anyday” in 2006 and “JUST HYMNS” in 2014, and authored a book called “More Than A Song” in 2015.
Helen’s career has been marked by significant achievements, including her role as the music director of KICC Ghana and a successful live concert in 2012, which led to the recording of a live DVD.
During a time of significant growth for the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in the UK, Helen was instrumental in the choir and music ministry.
This period coincided with the church’s expansion under Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, resulting in many individuals embracing Christianity.
In 1997, Helen took on greater responsibilities as the Music Coordinator at KICC’s North London satellite church, where she managed a talented group of singers and musicians and helped coordinate the main Mass Choir.
Feeling a strong calling to ministry, she moved to Accra, Ghana, in 2002, where she was ordained as a Reverend Minister by Matthew Ashimolowo.
Currently, she serves as the Head of the Music and Creative Division and leads the KICC Winning Women Ministries.
