EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

Charles Enebeli, known by his stage name D’Prince or “Omoba,” meaning “Child of a King” in Yoruba, was born in Lagos on October 23, 1986, into a family with a rich musical heritage.

His father, Collins Enebeli, was a businessman and music production manager who established Sagitarious Productions, while his mother, Patience Enebeli, is recognized as an international business magnate.

From a young age, D’Prince was immersed in the music scene, thanks in part to his family’s connections, including his older brother, the renowned music producer Don Jazzy, who heads Mavin Records.

D’Prince received his education at King’s College in Lagos, but his deep-seated passion for music ultimately drove him to forge a career in the industry.

He has since gained recognition as a versatile artist, record executive, and entrepreneur.

CAREER

In 2005, D’Prince joined Mo’ Hits Records under the guidance of his brother Don Jazzy.

He contributed to the album “Frenzy,” which was released in 2012, and played a role in the success of several hit singles from the Mo’ Hits compilation album. His own single “Omoba” was released in 2009.

Following the dissolution of Mo’ Hits in 2012, D’Prince transitioned to Mavin Records, where he released popular tracks such as “Goody Bag,” “Call The Police,” and “Real G,” featuring M.I Abaga, in anticipation of his debut album “Frenzy.”

He was also featured on Mavin’s compilation album “Solar Plexus,” where his songs “Take Banana” and “Amarachi” received notable attention.

D’Prince has made a significant impact in the music industry over the years with several notable songs.

His track “OYO (On Your Own),” released in 2014 and produced by Don Jazzy, carries a strong message.

In 2015, he followed up with “Bestie,” which featured collaborations with Don Jazzy and Babyfresh.

In 2017, he released “Sade,” and in 2018, he debuted “Gucci Gang,” both of which were well-received by fans and critics alike.

In 2019, he launched an EP titled “Lavida,” which included tracks produced by Altims and Babyfresh, featuring appearances from Rema and Don Jazzy.

On March 22, 2019, D’Prince established Jonzing World, a record label and management company affiliated with Mavin Records. This label has become a creative hub for artists like Rema and Ruger.

The label generated excitement on January 21, 2021, with the release of the collaborative song “One Shirt,” featuring Ruger, D’Prince, and Rema, along with a visually stunning music video produced by Priorgold Pictures.

PERSONAL LIFE

D’Prince, a Nigerian Afropop artist and record executive, became a father in 2015 when he welcomed a child with Sharon Oparacho, a Coventry University graduate.

Their family expanded in 2016 with the birth of their second child.

There has been speculation regarding D’Prince’s marital status with Sharon Oparacho, who is the mother of his children.
