Adamawa governor warns nurses against plans to japa

Ahmadu Fintiri, the governor of Adamawa State, has warned the nurses in the state to stop traveling to foreign countries for better opportunities.

While speaking at the national president of the Fellowship of Christian Nurses, Nigeria meeting, Fintiri expresses deep concerns over the high rate of emigration of health professionals over to foreign nations.

He described it as ‘japa’ which is a popular slang in Nigeria.

He was represented by Chief of Staff, Edgar Sunday who underscored the need for the health professionals to remain diligent in their work and save the lives of the people in the state.

He also noted that nurses serve an essential role in the line of healthcare profession and to the community as a whole.

He further stated that the administration is working hard to build more infrastructure needed in healthcare to ensure a sustainable environment for the health workers.
