The Labour Party has made it clear that they are not associated with the outcomes of the recent meeting held in Umuahia by Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
In a press release today, the party criticized the meeting, saying it was not allowed by the party’s rules.
The Labour Party explained that the gathering did not have the party’s permission and doesn’t show what the party stands for.
They told their members and the public to pay no attention to any decisions or statements made at the meeting, confirming their commitment to following the right procedures and rules.
The statement read, “The Labour Party disowns the outcome of the Umuahia stakeholders meeting convened by Governor Alex Otti. The meeting is illegal and unconstitutional, and we urge our members to disregard any resolutions from this gathering.”
The party restated its commitment to following the correct legal and party procedures for any official decisions or actions, distancing itself from any activities that do not adhere to these principles. As a reminder at the meeting, Senator Nenadi Usman was elected as the temporary national chairperson of the party.
