The governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, has sworn in the newly elected 17 Local Government chairmen that won the Local Government polls in the state on Saturday, November 4,2024.
The governor urged the newly elected chairmen to run their LGAs with a vision of “Abia first” before other agenda comes up.
He also highlighted the significance of collaboration in order to implement measures needed for the change of the state.
The newly elected chairmen should also ensure that they are able to provide the primary needs of the people in the state.
He said, “As I had also said, your task is to solve the basic problems that have bedevilled our people in the various communities for ages. Access to water, basic health and education services, effective maintenance of Truck C roads and quick response to security threats in your local communities should rank very high in your order of priorities.”
He added, “Our people should be able to see the impact of your leadership in the next six months through measurable improvements in the living conditions of the people, especially women, youths and the vulnerable in the various localities.”
